Location: | Ocean Village Marina in the heart of Southampton., Hampshire, SO14 3TG. |
Powerboat: | Immaculate 40’ Sunseeker Portofino, 2 engines 460HP, traditional blue hull, sleek, aerodynamic, mediterranean style cockpit, fully MCA safety coded, equipped with life jackets and life raft. |
Dates: | Most Saturdays and occasional Sundays throughout April to October inclusive. |
Promotion: | FREE logo embroidered Polo Shirt (worth £30) for each participant, as worn by the Crew and handed out at the beginning of each experience |
Start Times: | 10.00am, 12.30pm and 3.00pm. |
Duration: | Allow up to 2½ hours for your visit to the venue. |

Car Parking: | All car parks on the marina charge £1 per hour and only take £1 coins. |
Spectators: | Will be able to watch and wave off from the Marina. There are bars, restaurants, museums, shops and cinemas located around the marina. The city centre with its large new shopping mall is just a 20 minute walk away. |
Weather: | The experience could be cancelled - up to 24 hours notice will be given direct to the participant by telephone if severe weather is forecast. This decision is made by the Skipper and is not open to negotiation. A new date can then be arranged. |
Suitability: | Adults and Children (age from 7 years to 16 years). Please note: All children must wear a life jacket supplied by us at all times (even on the pontoon). |
Restrictions: | There are no height restrictions but there is a maximum weight of 16½ stone (105kg). |

Itinerary
• | Meet the Skipper and Crew outside the Banana Wharf Bar/Restaurant in Ocean Village Marina, Southampton and collect your free polo shirt. |
• | We will then make our way to the Sunseeker. Once settled onboard and after the safety briefing, the Skipper will take you through the marina where you will see other ‘millionaire lifestyle’ powerboats and yachts on their moorings. |
• | Continuing with a cruise down the River Itchen to Southampton Water for the opportunity to see the magnificent cruise ships on their docks. At this stage, the Skipper will explain navigation and basic plotting techniques and answer any questions. All participants will get the option to have a drive at slow speed to get the feel of this luxury powerboat. |
• | On reaching the open waters of The Solent where the speed restriction ends, the Skipper will open up the throttles for a “full-on” blast with speeds of up to 39 knots using the supercharged and turbocharged twin engines at 460HP to display the capabilities of this superb 40’ Sunseeker performance powerboat. |
• | Then once again it's 'OVER TO YOU' to take a turn at the helm to drive and feel the superb handling characteristics of this sleek powerboat at high speed whilst heading over to the Isle of Wight around the famous Bramble Bank towards Cowes the home of the world famous sailing regatta. |
• | On reaching the Isle of Wight, the Skipper will cruise past the mouth of the River Medina (east and west Cowes) with time to take in the views and for each participant to have their photographs taken at the helm. |
• | The fun continues, with more “full-on” thrills and a high speed blast back to Ocean Village Marina as we once again travel across the Solent and also the mouth of the famous River Hamble. |
Sights to see during the experience:
QE2 dock, Netley Castle, Netley Park, Calshot Lifeboat Station, Calshot Castle, Spinnaker Tower, The River Hamble. Some of the cruise liners to look out for are: The new Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2, Oriana, Aurora and Independence of the Seas. |
